Sara Morales

Sara Morales, aged 92, passed away on 02 March 2024, at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY. She was born on 28 September 1931, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Florencio Suarez Vargas and Maria Cristina Colon Santiago.

Sara left her home of Puerto Rico in the mid-1950's looking to make a life of her own. She moved to New York City where she met her husband Pedro Angel Morales. They married on 20 March 1960, in New York City. After a short time in Manhattan, they made the borough of Queens their home.

Our beautiful mother totally devoted her life to her children and husband. She provided a home that was a sanctuary from the tough NYC life. Showing us by example and instruction on how to be kind, loving, and strong; she nurtured five boys into men. As time went on, she also came to be blessed by the love of her additional family members, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren. She treated them as her own children and loved them unconditionally. Also, any friends of her children and family members were instantaneously welcomed by our mother and were made to feel as part of her family. Rest in Peace our dearest Mother, Confidant and Friend. She was the best of us and a certified angel who walked amongst us here on earth. Our hearts are heavy, but we Celebrate having been wrapped in her loving embrace.

Sara was preceded in death by her husband Pedro Angel Morales, and is survived by sons Pedro, Luis, Jose, Carlos, and David. Daughter-in-laws, Geraldine, Nicole, and JoAnn. Grand children Melissa, Jean Carlos, Pedro, and Angela. Great Grandson Xavier; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will held at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Church, 1920 New Haven Ave, Far Rockaway, NY 11691 on 08 March 2024 at 10:30am followed by internment at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735."
